Marjorie Lindsay was the kindest and sweetest person I have ever met and I suspect she will always hold that place.  In my teen years and beyond, I spent so much time with the Lindsay family through a long friendship with Debbie.  Mrs. Lindsay filled their homes with love, laughter, compassion for others and the most welcoming arms and smile I have ever encountered.  Mrs. Lindsay led by example in all things. Simply being around her showed me that the only way to live a life was through love.  Anytime I would stop in for a visit after I left Halifax was the best day.  How special she made me feel.  Her loud, exuberant greetings were like a pure tonic of happiness.  She would throw her head back and shout:  “My DARLING!  How wonderful to see you again” and wrap me in the warmest hug.  Marjorie Lindsay lived her life fulfilling the words of Mother Teresa:

  • LET NO ONE EVER COME TO YOU WITHOUT LEAVING BETTER AND HAPPIER.
  • BE THE LIVING EXPRESSION OF GOD’S KINDNESS:
  • KINDNESS IN YOUR FACE.
  • KINDNESS IN YOUR EYES.
  • KINDNESS IN YOUR SMILE

Rest well Mrs. Lindsay.  I love you and hold you in my heart.
